Our Radiologists
Blue Star Radiology Associates have been the radiologists for the Dallas Cowboys since 2005, so they understand the pressure and high expectations. We are confident in their skills and abilities to provide impeccable reads that meet or exceed your expectations.
Most importantly, they are available to you to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Give your patients the care and precision diagnosis they deserve with Maverick MRI.
Our Imaging Director
Maverick’s co-founder and Imaging Director, Abraham (Abe) Padua, has worked in the radiology field since 1975 and spent close to 30 years in MRI research & development with Siemens. He helped pioneer several new MRI techniques and protocols while working with radiologists at leading university medical centers around the U.S. By collaborating with some of the best minds in the field, he was able to help innovate imaging processes to improve quality control of metallic objects used in orthopedic implants, an achievement he received a patent for his contributions. This and much of his decades of trailblazing work have helped countless patients receive more accurate diagnoses and treatment outcomes.
Abe’s protocol optimization expertise and proficiency in MRI physics provide our referring physicians an exclusive opportunity to collaborate on new protocol development or have a diagnostic edge when using Maverick MRI as your imaging provider.
Our Technology
Ultra-Wide-Bore 3T
To ensure all patients in the community can physically access the best quality imaging, Maverick MRI founders equipped the facility with a brand-new, United Imaging uMR OMEGA Ultra-Wide-Bore 3T scanner, to accommodate 99.9% of body habitus. This scanner has several industry-leading features that further set Maverick MRI apart from regional competitors including:
- The world’s largest 3T MRI bore at 75 cm
- The longest 3T MRI scan field-of-view at 60 cm
- The heaviest table weight capacity of any MRI in the world at 680 lbs.
- AI-equipped for fast scanning at High Resolution using Deep Learning Algorithms
- Most Complete array of Imaging Coils to address our patient’s needs.
- AI Compressed Sensing (ACS) + Deep Learning Reconstruction (DLR) – With our implementation of this new technology, the resolution will be sharply improved while imaging speeds reach their pinnacle.

Our scanner holds several industry-leading features in the 3T MRI segment to enhance your experience, including having:
- The widest 3T bore in the market, to accommodate more patients, including large athletes and bariatric patients, with a 75 cm (~30 in) ultra-wide bore and a 680 lb. table capacity.
- Best-in-class homogeneity and high gradient performance for consistently high image quality and fat saturation
- Large 60 x 60 x 50 cm field-of-view to provide extensive diagnostic coverage
- Fast imaging, free-breathing sequences, and powerful gradients for ultra-short breath holds
- Motion correction sequences for clearer images and fewer re-scans
- Simplified whole-body imaging with diffusion
Maverick MRI co-founders’ goal with the purchase of this scanner is to push and redefine the limits of what is possible in diagnostic imaging. The uMR Omega achieves outstanding performance using its uCS 2.0 Platform that enables the efficient application of compressed sensing with a routine clinical workflow for 2D, 3D, and 4D MR exams. The next-generation uCS imaging technology pushes clinical boundaries of isotropic resolution and dynamic imaging speed, reducing scan times by 23% in most cases.
- uCS Imaging Technology – uCS combines the strength of conventional acceleration technologies and innovative compressed sensing, breaking through the limits of both speed and resolution with a maximum acceleration factor of 36x and high, sub-millimeter isotropic spatial resolution.
- CS Processing Engine – The uCS Processing Engine is a high-performance computing technology that includes memory, data network, and premier CPU. The intelligent reconstruction algorithm complements the outstanding computational power, resulting in ultra-fast reconstruction.
What this all means for you and your patients is that there is no need to sacrifice quality for speed. A typical routine scan can be whittled down to 15-20 minutes for less anxiety and improved comfort during their visit.
